Course overview
This is a graduate course on network information theory, covering the fundamental limits of communication in multiuser settings. The course studies the information-theoretic foundations of broadcast channels, multiple access channels, relay channels, interference channels, and related problems, with emphasis on capacity regions and coding theorems.
A solid background in probability and basic information theory (at the level of IERG 5154 or equivalent) is assumed.
