Course overview

This is an undergraduate course on Fourier analysis and its engineering applications, aimed at students in the Mathematics and Information Engineering (MIEG) programme and related disciplines. The course develops the mathematical foundations of signal analysis and introduces the principal tools used in communications and signal processing.

Topics include: Fourier series and Fourier transforms, the Laplace transform, the Z-transform, linear time-invariant systems, convolution, sampling and the sampling theorem, filtering, and applications to communications and signal processing.
